The vehicle that hit the bike reportedly had the Commandant, 186 Bn, CRPF travelling in it. Police have recovered the ill fated bike and the star insignia that broke away from the Bolero from the accident site.
Soon after the victims were admitted to local hospital, CRPF officials paid a visit to the district hospital.

ITANAGAR, Jun 01: All Mengio Educated Unemployed Forum (AMEUF) today said that road maintenance work from Sakiang to Old Mengio was carried out properly and there was no misuse of Rs 2 crore TFC fund sanctioned for the road project.

DHAKA, Jun 01: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina voiced her strong resolve to work together with India for mutual development of the two countries through full cooperation to tap the potential of both the countries for mutual benefit in this globalized world.

Govt dedicates road after Lummer Dai
Itanagar, Jun 01: The Arunachal Pradesh government today paid tribute to state’s literary doyen Lummer Dai by dedicating a road in his name near state hospital Naharlagun commemorating his 72nd birth anniversary.
Education Minister Bosiram Siram inaugurating the road commented that Dai, who was born in Siluk Village under East Siang district showed flair for creative writing since his childhood and wrote several novels in Assamese namely, Paharor hile hile, Prithivir Hahi, Upar Mahal and award winning novel Kanyar Mulya. Terming literature as the mirror of society, Siram asserted that society progresses with the growth of literary activities.
Lauding the initiatives and efforts of the Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society (APLS) and Assam Sahitya Sabha (ASS), he said that the literary works and forums have helped in promoting mutual understanding, amity and brotherhood among society and people for a harmonious world.
Responding to a memorandum submitted by the ASS for reintroducing Assamese language as a third language in the state, Siram said that the state government would consider the proposal after thorough study.
"The government has constituted the State Council for Educational Research & Training (SCERT) with the objective to take independent decisions and policies in introducing and revamping curriculum suited to the needs of the state," he added.
Assam Sahitya Sabha president Rangbang Terang, speaking on the occasion said that the love for the beautiful land of Arunachal was opened to him through the works of Lummer Dai and hoped that more such writers would be produced from this state.
Nanni Dai, Editor of Echo of Arunachal and wife of Dai lauded the state government for recognizing the contribution of Dai in the field of literature. Nanni Dai termed the naming of the Lummer Dai road as a bearing of the fruit of the contribution of her Late husband and expressed deep gratitude to the state Govt. led by Nabam Tuki for recolonizing his literary contributions.

Tawang Ropeways project: A waste of public money

ITANAGAR, Jun 01: The first ever passenger Ropeways of Arunachal constructed at Tawang town is remaining unused till date, though the project was completed two years ago. Touted as one of the major tourist attractions of the state, the ropeway is also supposed to connect Tawang Monastery with Gyangyong Ani Gonpa.
Former President APJ Abdul Kalam laid down the foundation stone for the Rs 330.89 lacs DoNER Ropeways project on October 14, 2002. The state Govt pumped in 10 per cent matching share and the Public Works Department (PWD) was the implementing agency. The actual works began on February 27, 2007 and the project was completed on September 20, 2010. The Kolkata based Damodar Ropeways and Construction Limited executed the work. The total length of ropeway is 1184 metre and duration between two terminals is approximately 8 minutes. The cabin has capacity to carry eight persons at a time.
Now, the completed project is running into trouble, as no agencies are willing to operate it. According to the source, Damodar Ropeways has backed off from the project citing very high operational cost. In order to make it functional, some local youths were given training to operate it. However, that planning also did not materialize.

proposal to draw power from Rina Hydel project to Pasighat town, the people of West-
It may be mentioned that the power department, following consumers’ movement against erratic power supply in Pasighat town has decided to manage some additional power from Rina Hydel project and has declared for its early commissioning. As such, construction of 33 KV line from Koyu to Pasighat is reportedly completed.
The villagers of Ruksin area have expressed apprehention that if the power generated by Rina Hydel is drawn to Pasighat, there might be severe power crisis in their area. They warned the power department not to hamper the present power supply system under any circumstances. According to the people, the authority should generate additional power in Rina Hydel before drawing energy to Pasighat.

Pasighat, Jun 01: The newly appointed deputy commissioner of East Siang R.K. Mishra held a meeting with officers of Highway Division, Power, and Hydro Power departments today to discuss the present power scenario at Pasighat.
Expressing dismay at the present power scenario, MP Ninong Ering, who was also present in the meeting, appealed to the concerned departments to put in dedicated efforts to bring out a mechanism to improve it. He also urged them to explore other avenues if available. He assured to provide all possible help in arrangement of funds. The MP said that he is ready to spare funds from his MP LAD fund if needed. He also informed that the Govt. is planning to enhance the power allocation which will be of great help.

ITANAGAR, Jun 01: A RTI activist lodged a FIR against RWD Executive, Assistant and
Junior Engineers, Pasighat division at Police Station, Pasighat alleging them of

According to RTI report, the activist said, RWD completed construction of 17 culverts under ACA scheme at Kiyit and Ayeng villages. But in practice there is no any single culvert constructed at Kiyit and Ayeng villages. Further, the department released maximum bills amount against the two fictitious contractors under the scheme, the activist said.
The activist has also lodged a FIR against Mebo Block Development Officer at the same police station for alleged gross misuse of MLA LAD fund. The RTI report reflected construction of two ANM quarters and a labour room at Namsing PHC by BDO. But in reality only renovation and maintenance works were carried out at ANM quarters and labour room, the RTI activist said adding that existing ANM quarters and labour room were constructed by PWD few years back.
It further said that BDO has misused the sanctioned amount for procurement of CGI sheets for 30 beneficiaries. The RTI activist said that the BDO misused the scheme for construction of link road at Motum village and the scheme for construction of Agam to Kongkul link road.
Further, without any visible work done by the contractor, the concerned authority has also released bills against construction of Siluk Gangging fencing wall, it said. The said fencing wall was constructed earlier under another scheme, the FIR said.
The activist appealed to the concerned authority to book the wrong doers and demanded investigation against the alleged corrupt officers.

Madhumita Sonowal Bora, SMS (Plant Protection) discussed about integrated pest management practices in rice. She thoroughly discussed about the commonly found pests of rice and their control measures.

in the national and international hockey events, the month-
Altogether 20 youth from across the state took part in the training.
Sports and Youths Affairs Director DK Dinglow, who was present in the concluding ceremony, assured all possible help from the department in promoting the hockey in the state.
Arunachal Hockey Chairman Gumjum Haider appealed to the state government to introduce hockey in school level to popularize the national game in every nook and corner of the state. He suggested the players to come up with determination and show their mettle in the sport before the country.
Suraj Tayem, who was instrumental in organizing the training camp, suggested trainees to keep their fitness level high. Further Hockey Arunachal disclosed that the participant youths will be trained at Guwahati very shortly.

This is in response to “ Open Letter to the Chief Minister” .
I would like to draw the attention of masses in general and unemployed competent doctors in particular regarding the regularisation of over 70 NRHM contractual doctors by violating the norms of their contract.
I appreciate the doctors especially those who are serving in the remote areas but then their profession demands that. If they are not willing to serve the people of the state then they should not join the profession. I completely disagree with the demand of the doctors for regularising their service simply on the ground that the service of their fellow NRHM doctors have been regularised.
The demand of APDA is very genuine. In fact, regularisation of all the contractual doctors should be cancelled and the entire vacant seats should be given to APPSC for fair selection. Further, the grievance of those doctors whose service haven’t been regularised cannot be solved by regularising them because though a wrong has been done by the authority, it cannot be rectified by committing another mistake.
Therefore, I earnestly request the APDA for demanding the cancellation of all the regularisation orders and those seats may be advertised through the APPSC for open and fair competition.

Regularisation of over 70 NRHM contractual doctors without conducting any written examination is not fair on the part of the health department, especially when it is clearly written in their contract that their service cannot be regularised.
My question to the authority is, when they have decided to appoint the doctors through APPSC then why they regularised the contractual service of NRHM doctors while violating the norms of contract, thereby prejudicing the unemployed competent doctors.
Though they have been appointed two months back but since their appointment itself is invalid, they can be terminated from their service any time. Further, their regularisation cannot be taken as ground for continuing their service.
Therefore, I request all the civil society to fight against such corrupt practices for the betterment of our society. Let all the vacant seats be filled up through APPSC for fair selection.

Arunachal Unemployed Veterinary Doctors' Association (AUVDA) would like to express grievances regarding increased unemployment problem being faced by the Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) graduates in the state.

It is learnt that since late 70's there is no creation of Veterinary Officer (VO) posts in the department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary..
Where does the lacunae originate; the department or the state Government?
All the VOs being recruited by the department against posts because of retirement, promotional, expiry and surrendered vacancies till date. It is also learnt from some reliable sources that there will be hardly one VO post available annually for recruitment based on the retirement and promotion by the end of 2014 onwards.
Other departments of the state create various professional and technical posts to reduce the unemployment problems every year. The best example is the recent creation of 50 new sanctioned posts for recruitment of Medical Officers (Allopathy) in the department of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh. Though we undergo B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course by competing with the fellow friends and spending all the hard earned money of our poor parents with a hope to get employed in the state govt but due to non creation of posts in the state veterinary departments, there is many fold increase in unemployed B.V.Sc. & A. H. graduates every year along with increase in the numbers of B.V.Sc. & A.H. graduates who are in the verge of crossing upper age limit for Veterinary Officers examination as well as other state govt jobs. '
